When Josie + Jackie began planning their wedding, a destination celebration in the desert was their dream scenario.  These middle school besties turned brides-to-be were crossing their fingers for a venue where all their guests could stay together on-site. When they discovered that outdoor hospitality company Under Canvas has a location in Moab, UT they knew it was the place. They filled tents with friends and loved ones and created a weekend-long glamping extravaganza full of colorful disco details with the desert landscape of Moab as their breathtaking backdrop. The whole thing was a disco-glam desert wedding dream come true! The couple teamed up with planners from A Touch of Bliss to make it all happens, and photographer Megan from Hazel and Lace was there to capture these beautiful brides in their element.

Josie + Jackie’s invitation suite is by Sal Studios. We’re totally digging the retro color palette and the iridescent cactus envelope liner!

Taking cues from the landscape with the colors of these matching getting ready robes from Anthropologie.

Josie’s flowy, paisley-printed dress by Rue de Seine in purple, pink, and white is giving festival vibes!! Especially paired with that radiant headpiece by Amaroq.

A Ceremony Under the Desert Sun

Josie says: “We wanted our design and colors to reflect the landscape but with a punch of disco and glam.” Florist Painted Primrose absolutely took this vision to heart when they created this ceremony backdrop of vibrant roses tucked into towering cacti with some disco ball shimmer as an accent!

How electrifying do those colors look against the landscape?!

Josie + Jackie pulled from their own collection of vintage rugs to create this beautiful ceremony set-up.

We really do love a rug-lined aisle! Check out some of our other fave unique aisle decor ideas.

Here come the pups!

The glam squad featured Rollers & Rouge on hair and makeup by Artistry by Ashley. Also, how much do you adore Jackie’s amazing off-white ankle boots from Nisolo??

We cannot get over this couple’s amazing love story YEARS in the making. Josie tells it beautifully: “Jackie and I met on the same year-round swim team in middle school. We were fast best friends and spent every moment around each other. She was the first person who really saw me and saw me quickly. I never had to explain what I was feeling or thinking. She just knew. Our friendship secretly turned into something more. She was the second person I ever kissed, and then I freaked out. There was no room in my brain to entertain the thought that I could be gay. I pushed her away slowly, and even though we remained friends, the relationship was never what it was...

“I thought about her for about a decade; as I grew and society became more tolerant, I realized she was the first person I ever loved. She texted me about a remix to our throwback carpool karaoke song “Suga Suga” by Baby Bash. Her text arrived at the perfect moment, and I confessed that I had been in love with her when we were young. We reconnected after that night and have been inseparable ever since...

“3.5 years later, Jackie got down on one knee and proposed to me at our favorite spot in Moab.”

No wonder Moab was the perfect spot to tie the knot!!

These bridesmaid dresses by Show Me Your Mumu manage to perfectly match the mountains in the background! And get a load of the MASSIVE peonies in those bouquets!!!

Jackie’s stunning teal suit from Bindle and Keep is an explosion of color against the desert sand.

We are absolutely in love with Josie’s dreamy silver Mezcalero boots. And what a shot!! You can tell she knows a thing or two about wedding day photos. Josie—also known as Josie V Photography—is a wedding and elopement photographer herself!

Spectacular scenery for a special day!!

A Retro-Fabulous Reception

Josie + Jackie wanted to make sure their guests felt well taken care of after making the journey to Moab. Welcome gifts included camping essentials, recycled reusable water bottles, and fun details like personalized matches these personalized motel keys.

Furniture rentals from Moab Event Services created this outdoor dining room oasis in the middle of the desert. The metallic tinsel installation above the reception space was a last minute idea that absolutely paid off. Family and friends teamed up to hand-tie the fringe, and the result was pure disco magic.

How gorgeous are the vibrant pinks in this centerpiece?! And don’t miss that little tiny air plant in a mini disco ball planter!

Territory West Designs and Event Rents created a colorful tablescape for the feast and succulents and cacti were the perfect desert details.

This bright buttercream three-tiered wedding cake is the handiwork of Sugar Shaker Bakery.

DJ and friend of the couple Sonic Flow finished the night off with an unforgettable dance party!
