We love this heavenly confection of silk presented by Bianca Nuno on Etsy.com. What a pretty touch to a summer dress, just a touch of softness. Offered by Bianca Nuno on Etsy.com for $215.00.

This past August, Brooke and Pat tied the knot with a funky, fresh style – they wanted bright, vibrant colors, and a pop-art, Andy Warhol theme. Since they are both native Coloradans, choosing the City Park bandstand was a romantic, urban choice for this couple. They floated through a sea of bubbles down their custom red runner.
The masters at Denver Design Works and custom linens from A Boulder Affair transformed the Marco Polo ballroom at The Curtis Hotel to create a pink and orange party space. They also changed the patio area into a Miami-esque blue lounge for guests – an urban oasis.
The bride and groom were serenaded by recording artist Jessica Sonner for their first dance.
And later in the reception, guests were treated to abstract performance artists by Borillo Entertainment.

The staff at the Curtis hotel created a menu that was perfect to theme – bubble gum martinis, milk shake shooters with an oreo garnish, and tiny Campbell’s tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches. Divine!
These amazing images were provided by Kim Nodurft, what a photographer!!
From inspiration to wedding day, we were so excited to help put this amazing wedding into reality!

We wish Patrick and Brooke all of the love and happiness that we saw on their wedding day for years to come!

On the planning track towards Maui, I met with Julie of JS Designs for lunch at the very lovely Gaia to discuss the Save-the-Dates and Invitations for our vow renewal in 2010. I brought a few examples for inspiration – I want a fun, unexpected invitation that will surprise our guests. Although only 30 of these beauties will be made, they will be little works of art!

Inspiration: Vow renewal on Maui
Leave a comment | Filed under Vow renewal inspiration summer weddingThe rough draft of the inspiration board is complete for our vow renewal on Maui, July 2010. You might recognize a few of the elements from this very blog. I took inspiration from the soft colors on the island, and added a little drama of course! Next, Julie Sandusky of JS Designs will be designing our save the dates and following invitations. More to follow soon!
Nicole and Rocky tied the knot on August 1st at DCPA under a handmade Chuppah and celebrated with their friends and family (a few from France!) at the Westin Tabor Center. Their wedding had a rich, antique french inspiration with a downtown Denver flair! Tables were named after French destinations, and indicated by vintage postcards. Guests were greeted by escort cards tied to sprigs of lavender, reminiscent of the south of France. The bride and groom enjoyed a rickshaw ride from the DCPA to the Westin downtown. Thank you to Jay Yates Photography for these beautiful images.

In late June this year, Nena and Rod tied the knot at their summer wedding, with the theme “Meant to Bee”. Their color palette was a mixture of summer blues and warm yellow. The bridesmaids wore blue satin, and carried bouquet of roses, iris, and Gerber daises with a bee detail. The interfaith ceremony was held at St. Ignatius Loyola and the indoor/outdoor reception was held at the University of Denver. Guests enjoyed cupcakes for dessert and took home jars of Colorado honey as a favor. This couple was one of the sweetest that we’ve had the pleasure of working with this year. Here are a few shots of the event from Ash Marie Photo.

365 days until Butler Wedding #3
Leave a comment | Filed under Company News Uncategorized brides summer weddingNine years ago today, my husband and I exchanged vows on the campus at Santa Clara University, and had our reception at the Silicon Valley Capitol Club in San Jose. The eight bridesmaids wore ice blue gowns and held light blue hydrangea bouquets.

Five years after that, Scott surprised me with a vow renewal ceremony, just the two of us and a Hawaiian minister on poipu beach on Kauai. Our reception was a sunset dinner for two at the Beach House . I had a tuberose and gardenia bouquet, and Scott wore maile.

For our ten year anniversary, exactly one year from today, we are going to plan a celebration of “Loving Out Loud”. And once again, I am a bride-to-be! Stay tuned for more details, as the planning begins!

Completely inspired by the wedding of Alissa and Ryan, as directed to me by my SIL, Blythe. This is the contemporary was to do country chic. Photos courtesy of Jose Villa Photography.
